PICKLESBURGH, PA— Why did the giant pickle cross one of Pittsburgh’s sister bridges? To get to the Byham Theater of course. What’s so funny about that? You’ll see for yourself when the National Comedy Center, the United States’ official cultural institution and museum dedicated to comedy, and Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership team up on the eve of this year’s Picklesburgh festival to premier the “Pickles & Giggles Comedy Showcase.” This live show spotlights four of the nation’s funniest, up & coming comics and will be hosted by YaJagoff’s John Chamberlin and Rachael Rennebeck. Made possible with support from Southern Tier Brewing Company, ticket holders will also have a chance to purchase their limited-edition pickle beer made especially for Picklesburgh.

Jackie Fabulous

Jackie captured America’s heart as a semi-finalist on the 2019 season of America’s Got Talent and has since been featured on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, Gotham Comedy Live, The Arsenio Hall Show, FOX, BET, Kevin Hart’s LOL Network and has headlined at many of the top comedy clubs in the country.

Sammy Obeid

Lebanese-Palestinian American, Sammy turned down a job at Google to be a comedian. Now the host of 100 Humans on Netflix, he’s also appeared on NBC’s Last Comic Standing and America’s Got Talent, as well as TBS’s CONAN, and is best known for his world record of performing comedy 1,001 nights in a row.

Rojo Perez

Rojo made his late-night standup debut on TBS’ CONAN,” becoming the first Puerto Rican comic to do so, and recently received a standing ovation on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Among his many credits, he has been featured on Huffington Post’s inaugural LatinX standup special and Comedy Central’s Funny ‘Cause It’s True.

Steven Rogers

A New York City based comedian, Steve has appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The Late Late Show with James Corden. Steven also has a popular anxiety-themed podcast with fellow comedian Andrew Schiavone called, “Panic Attacking,” and his new album, “Before He Was Super,” recorded at the National Comedy Center, debuted #1 on iTunes.

You’ll get your giggle on with opening sets from three of the funniest local comedians, programmed by Downtown Pittsburgh’s Arcade Comedy Theater, including Samantha Bentley, Collin Chamberlin, and Chrissy Costa. Arcade Comedy will also serve up pickle-themed stand-up and improv shows on July 15 and 16, to coincide with the Picklesburgh festival. Tickets at arcadecomedytheater.com.
